They are six.

Among them, Commander Aly Camara, who led Special Forces operations.

He was on the front line to lead the assault on the presidential palace on September 5 and overthrow President Alpha Condé.

These six soldiers prepared and led the coup alongside Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya.

They then had the role of monitoring the presidential palace.

They are accused of having looted and stolen nearly a billion Guinean francs.

They were brought before the military court on October 28 and placed under a warrant of committal to the Conakry remand center on November 2, 2021.

Placed under judicial control

Their detention has generated very little debate and the subject has so far been very little discussed by the new authorities.

Their lawyers question the facts of which they are accused: “

We did not see the image of the safes that they would have dynamited

”, notes one of their advisers.

The military prosecutor placed them under judicial control.

The six soldiers will have to appear before a judge twice a week, not leave Conakry without authorization and they are not allowed to carry a weapon.

However, according to several sources, the six soldiers have not yet been released.
