It is a real break in German political life and for the Alternative for Germany party.

An administrative court has confirmed that the AfD could be monitored by the intelligence services, which suspect it of unconstitutional actions.

Losing momentum, the far-right formation now fears a flight of its members.

For the Cologne administrative court, "

there are enough real indications of unconstitutional tendencies within the party

" to justify its surveillance by the intelligence services.

The court insists in particular on the incitement to hatred against foreigners.

Concretely, the internal intelligence will be able in the future to carry out phone tapping of members of the AfD, and place moles within the party.

A blow for the far right, losing momentum since the health crisis.

Entering the Bundestag in 2017, the party is only credited with 10% of voting intentions, and intelligence surveillance could accelerate its decline.

Many civil servants who are members of the training could also expose themselves to disciplinary measures, since their political activity would become incompatible with the oath that all German civil servants take on the Constitution.
