SVT Gävleborg has spoken with Pär Dahlstedt for a couple of days on his journey to war-torn Ukraine.

When we reach him on Wednesday, he is a few miles into Ukraine on the highway to Lviv.

He is waiting for the call that will lead him to where he will unload, among other things, medical equipment.

- It looks like home but different, a little sandbag protection and some checkpoints.

Otherwise, the traffic flows well, there was a bit of a queue towards the border from the other direction, says Pär Dahlstedt.

He says that so far he feels safe in the situation he is in.

Gävle doctors' initiative

Behind the collection is Yuliia Didenko who works as a doctor in Gävle and wanted to help in her former homeland.

And the size of the transport testifies that there are many Gävle residents who wanted to help.

In the clip above, you can see when Pär Dahlstedt drives in across the border into Ukraine.
