An 18-year-old was seriously injured on the tram late Sunday afternoon in Montpellier.
The facts occurred on line 3 between the Jules Guesde and Astruc stops.
A minor allegedly assaulted an 18-year-old boy.
The two men obviously know each other and maintain a deep intimacy.
According to witnesses, the victim was sitting quietly listening to music through his headphones when his attacker threw a knife in his hand at him.
Once disarmed, he would have struck him with a second knife blade he had in his possession.
He denies the facts despite video surveillance
The victim was hit in the forearms and has a deep gash in the cheek.
He managed to flee at the next stop.
The perpetrator was identified and arrested at his home in the Cévennes district where he allegedly rebelled and tried to create a riot.
In police custody, he denied the charges, despite the video surveillance of TAM cameras.
He was referred to the juvenile prosecutor's office on Tuesday.
