Choi Jae-hyung, the candidate of the People's Strength, was elected in the re-/by-election for the Seoul National Assembly members held along with the 20th presidential election.



According to the election statistics system of the National Election Commission, as of 3:04 a.m., with 99.97% of the vote counting, Candidate Choi ranked first with 52.09% of the votes.



Candidate Choi, who served as chairman of the Audit Office under the Moon Jae-in administration, was the 'running mate' of candidate Yoon Seok-yeol, aiming for a synergistic effect on the theory of regime change.



Candidate Kim Young-jong, who left the Democratic Party of Korea and ran as an independent candidate, came in second with 28.41%.



Candidate Kim, who used to be the mayor of Jongno-gu, belonged to the Democratic Party, but after the Democratic Party decided to 'nominate' in Jongno, he threw out his vote after leaving the party.



Justice Party candidate Bae Bok-joo was counted with 15.32 percent.
