A death in the Loire on Friday, another in Finistère yesterday, Monday.

And two in Seine-Maritime, Saturday.

The list of logging accidents in recent days is terrible.

This weekend in Normandy, the emergency services intervened almost simultaneously on two dramas, in two towns between Rouen and Dieppe.

In the middle of the morning, a 61-year-old man died instantly when a 20-meter beech tree fell in Bracquetuit, reports

"He had come with two members of his family, his brother and a cousin, at the request of an elderly lady, owner of a house, to cut the trees", explains the regional daily.

The beech tree fell the wrong way and he didn't have time to run away.

Under the eyes of his son 

That same day, a few kilometers away, in Gaillefontaine, a 54-year-old man also lost his life while chopping wood.

“The main tree had already been felled.

But when cutting the imposing logs 80 centimeters in diameter, the victim who was below the slope saw the trunk of several tons roll towards him, ”

His son, who was nearby, witnessed the scene without being able to help him.

Investigations have been opened to determine the exact circumstances of these accidents.
