In 1954, when she participated in the first National People's Congress, she was only 18 years old, the youngest among the 1,227 deputies.
As the first generation of textile workers in New China, Hao Jianxiu explored a set of "spinning work method" to improve textile technology, which has been vigorously promoted in the national textile industry.
A total of 147 female representatives participated in the first National People's Congress.
Among them, Deng Fangzhi, the mother of Huang Jiguang, the "super hero" of the Volunteer Army, Liang Jun, "the first female tractor driver in New China", and Shen Jilan, who was later re-elected to the 13th National People's Congress.
Together, they witnessed the birth of the first constitution of New China and the establishment and implementation of the system of people's congresses.
Since the late 1990s, the opening time of the National Two Sessions has been fixed at the beginning of March.
