“The UK will stop importing Russian oil and oil products by the end of 2022,” RIA Novosti quoted Kvarteng as saying on Twitter.
The move would give enough time to replace Russian imports, which account for 8% of UK demand, he said.
Earlier it was reported that the British oil company BP will not enter into new contracts for the purchase of oil and gas in Russia.
