Ten days after the start of the military special operation in Ukraine, Russia became the state subject to the maximum number of sanctions in the world, overtaking Iran and North Korea.

According to the global sanctions tracking database Castellum.ai, Russia has become the target of 5,530 new restrictions.

Earlier, the Japanese authorities imposed restrictions on Russian President Vladimir Putin, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and 49 Russian companies.

The US Treasury has imposed sanctions against a number of aircraft repair and design bureaus from Russia.

As noted in the Kremlin, the Russian economy is experiencing serious blows due to the sanctions of Western countries, but there is a margin of safety, it "will stand on its feet."
