On Tuesday, the Support Group for Islam and Muslims (Jnim or GSIM), linked to al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, claimed responsibility for the particularly bloody attack in Mondoro in videos and audio broadcast on social networks.

A quick claim and outside the usual channels, as sometimes happens for large-scale operations.

The jihadists contradict the assessments given by the Malian army.

At least two videos, in the Dogon and Bambara languages, and one audio, in the Fulani language, have been released.

A communication plan as important as it is infrequent.

The Jnim fighters claim responsibility

for the attack on the Mondoro military camp there

, and claim to have killed around thirty Malian soldiers.

They also present the material recovered: nine vehicles from the Malian army as well as a large number of weapons, heavy and light.

The Malian authorities had on the same day deplored 27 soldiers killed, 33 injured including 21 seriously and seven missing.

It is the balance sheet on the Jnim side that differs the most between the two camps: the jihadists claim to have lost only four men, and present their loot as proof of their victory.

The Malian army announces 70 enemies "neutralized" during the response, including several leaders.

In their claim, the Jnim terrorists finally claim to have attacked the Mondoro camp to avenge the civilians killed by the Malian army in Dogofry.

Last week, a mass grave was discovered in the area, also near Diabaly and Nampala, with around 30 bodies.

The Malian army had categorically denied any abuse and denounced allegations "

likely to discredit the Fama

 ".
