Exceptional artists, coming from various cultural backgrounds, met yesterday at Expo 2020 Dubai, to present a bouquet of songs and music in the open air in the celebration garden, as part of the celebration of International Women's Day, which falls on the eighth of March, in partnership with the Forum " Preserving Dignity in Storytelling”, and the Women’s Pavilion, in collaboration with “Cartier”.

The artists were chosen based on their contributions in the fields of culture and the arts, and their dedication to promoting gender parity and empowering women.

The Norwegian singer Neon Lone began the concert by presenting several songs in English from her new and old albums, including "I Miss You".

Neon expressed her happiness to sing at Expo 2020, noting that it is the first time she has visited Dubai.

While the Cuban singer, Emi Alfonso, presented a bouquet of her most beautiful songs in Spanish, and the audience interacted with the loud music accompanying her performance on stage.

Amy expressed her happiness at participating in the "We the Women" festival, and her support for all women in the world to live in peace.

Amy expressed her overwhelming happiness and great pride in being at Expo 2020 Dubai, and being part of this important festival for women, adding: "This is a very good platform for us, and an opportunity for all these talented artists to get to know a new audience, and bring their cultures and identities to the place."

She stressed the need for more strong women's festivals like this one, to spread strong messages in other parts of the world, blend cultures and music, make a big impact in the world, and drive action towards cultural change.

As for the artist Aloo and La Shivani, who is known for her dancing style accompanied by loud music, she performed a distinguished show, and the audience interacted with modern songs mixed with American music, classical and "hip-hop".

"We need to have a more comprehensive idea of what a woman looks like on stage," Allo said.

So here I am, at the age of 40, and I am a mother, and I will perform (rap) music,” pointing out that she loves to wear colorful costumes, and to have a space in the music industry.

She added: "The presence of many women and their messages on this stage shows the extent of the plurality of women, and how they can be different, and promotes equality and freedom that is still absent in many countries of the world.

You don't have to conform to a certain mould, you can have freedom.”
