In Argentina, mentalities are slowly changing despite the legalization of abortion just over a year ago.

In the conservative and Catholic provinces in the north of the country, obstacles continue to prevent full access to the right to voluntary termination of pregnancy.

Obstacles can also be legal.

In the province of Salta, in the north of the country, a doctor is being prosecuted, and was even briefly imprisoned, for allegedly performing an abortion after the 14 weeks provided for by law.

For Monica Menini, one of his lawyers, these accusations are false and are intended to intimidate.

The patriarchal justice of Salta is trying to discipline this doctor

And this has consequences for all the other doctors who must make decisions to guarantee access to abortion, which is a right in our country.

Since the legalization of abortion a little over a year ago, nearly 33,000 abortions have been officially recorded in Argentina.

But for feminist associations and activists, the fight to guarantee access to this right continues.
