A 57-year-old woman and her 71-year-old husband were found guilty of violence against their two children by the Meaux criminal court (Seine-et-Marne).

The man, a retired teacher, was sentenced to two years in prison, one of which was suspended.

He was also accused of sexual assault on his daughter, reports

The couple appealed

The defendant appeared free but was imprisoned after the trial, which was held in February.

His wife, a school principal, will no longer be able to exercise her profession for three years.

She received an 18-month suspended prison sentence.

The two defendants appealed.

They also do not have the right to come into contact with their two victims.

The latter, a boy and a girl adopted by the couple abroad, had denounced the abuse in early 2021. They were then aged 19 and 20.

They explained that the violence had lasted for several years but had worsened in 2020, during the anti-coronavirus confinements.
