Two civilians were killed in an Israeli bombing near Damascus

At least two civilians were killed at dawn on Monday as a result of Israeli shelling in the vicinity of Damascus, according to the official Syrian News Agency (SANA).

SANA quoted a military source as saying that at around 5:00 am (0300 GMT) on Monday, Israel carried out an air attack from the direction of south Beirut, targeting some points in the vicinity of the city of Damascus.

The source did not specify what those points were and whether they were military sites belonging to the Syrian army.

According to the military source, the strikes resulted in the "martyrdom of two civilians and the infliction of some material losses," without revealing additional details, and whether the two civilians were killed directly in the air strike or as a result of shrapnel that extended their location.
