Hungarian President Victor Orbán and his party Fidesz have been in power since 2010. And now Orbán is hoping for a fourth term.

SVT's European correspondent David Boati has visited Hungary to take stock of the opposition, which has joined forces in a broad coalition led by Peter Marki-Zay.

According to the latest compilation of opinion figures, however, Fidesz is leading, but the measurement was made before Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

The opposition now hopes that the war will turn public opinion against Victor Orbán, who is considered one of Putin's closest friends in the EU.
