• Interview Alberto Núñez Feijóo: "My project is to banish frivolity through a solid party"

  • Negotiations Vox dodges the winks of the PP in Castilla y Léon: "Either we enter the Government or they look for another way"

Alberto Núñez Feijóo does not get wet about what the leader of the PP of Castilla y León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, should do, but he does not close the door to Vox.

That is a difference with Pablo Casado.

The president of the Xunta de Galicia and candidate to lead the national PP has assured this Monday that "Mañueco is the only one who can be president of Castilla y León", but he has not wanted to decide on whether he should do so after an agreement with Juan García- Gallardo (Vox)

"Our project is not to think about whether we can agree with this one or the other; our project is to win," Feijóo assured on Antena 3. "Our project is to widen the PP: there are many Vox voters who have come from the PSOE, from Cs , of the PP... the objective is to recover them. We are not going to accept that the PSOE tells us with whom we can agree with seeing exactly with whom they agree, "he settled.

As it seems to him that more "height" is needed in Spanish politics, Feijóo thinks it "sensible" that they let Mañueco govern, since the PP is the most voted list: "He is the only one who can be president of Castilla y Lion".

The regional candidate of the PSOE, Luis Tudanca, "he wants to give us duties when he is unable to control his own partners", the president of the Xunta has complained.

Asked about the difference between Casado, who frontally refused to sign a government agreement with Vox in Castilla y León, Feijóo has assured that in the Executive Committee of the PP "we clearly told Mañueco that he has the responsibility to think about what he has to do, and after thinking about it, do it".

"But I have not seen more red lines than respecting the Constitution, the State of Autonomies, our commitments in terms of equality and our Europeanist and Atlanticist project," he assured, before.

Feijóo has not wanted to get wet either about how long he will remain at the head of the Xunta when he wins -as everyone discounts in the PP- the internal congress on April 1 and 2.

It may be "weeks or months", but he will leave office to devote himself "with complete dedication" to his party.

Nor has he wanted to reveal anything about his future team in the direction of the PP: "I will have to think about that. Now what I am thinking is that starting Friday I will visit all the autonomous communities and transfer a mature and thoughtful project to the party".

"I am not thinking of specific people, but of having people who have specific training and experience," he stressed.

Regarding the "government crisis" after United We Can criticize the PSOE, which Minister Ione Belarra has called "war party", Feijóo has assured that Sánchez will put up with everything out of interest.

"He is going to eat" all the internal criticism and "the ambivalence" of Yolanda Díaz and Alberto Garzón, the Galician baron has judged.

"We have spent several years with a divided government and without a project."

Regarding the request for "precision diplomacy" made by Minister Irene Montero, Feijóo opposed the "precision" of the Russian attacks.

"The Ukrainians, if they listened to him, would rather think of precision projectiles and precision deaths that are taking place in a people that is defending their sovereignty" and "he simply asks that they let him live on their territory and not kill them, don't kill them," he detailed.

Finally, Feijóo has downplayed the importance of the polls, which already place the PSOE in the lead and Abascal very much on the rise.

"The surprising thing would be that, in the middle of the PP crisis, the PP rose. The PP has withstood an intense crisis, very hard, and it is a very strong party and capable of coming back."

Another of the balls that the president of the Xunta has cleared is that of his future as a senator.

"It is an opportunity and an assessment that we will make, after the [PP] congress. But it does not make me sleepy. What worries me is not that I am a congressman or senator," he settled.

Above all, he has put forward, because now "the laws are negotiated outside" the Chambers and today the Parliament "is a fragmented set of different tendencies" that is far from being what it was, in his opinion.
