America: We asked Poland to "lent" its warplanes to Ukraine, and we will "compensate" for it!

The United States gave Poland the green light to give Kyiv fighter jets, while Moscow warned neighboring countries against receiving Kiev fighter jets.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said his country was in talks with Warsaw to conclude a deal that would allow Ukrainian pilots to use Polish fighter jets to counter Russian air supremacy.

The deal seeks to give Kyiv 28 Russian-made MiG-28 fighters, with the United States replacing Warsaw with a group of F-16s.

"It got the green light," Blinken said in an interview with CBS.

In fact, we are talking with our friends now about what can meet their needs if they choose to provide these fighters to the Ukrainians.”

This development comes at a time when Russia has warned Ukraine's neighboring countries against receiving Kiev fighter planes in preparation for their use against Russian forces.

Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov accused Romania of allowing the landing of these Ukrainian fighters.

"The use of the network of airports in these countries to serve as a base for Ukrainian military fighters and their subsequent use against Russian forces can be considered the involvement of these countries in an armed conflict," Konashenkov said in a video statement to a spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry.

Konashenkov said Ukraine's combat-ready fighters had been destroyed "virtually all".

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is calling on Western powers to impose a no-fly zone over Ukraine to spare the country from further Russian air strikes.

For his part, Russian President Vladimir Putin considers any country's imposition of a no-fly zone over Ukraine as engaging in a military conflict.
