In a first step in its history in the Arab world, Disney decided to release its latest animated movie, "Encanto", in two separate dubbings, the first in Egyptian colloquial and the second in Standard Arabic.

Which came after more than 10 years of demanding the return of the Egyptian dialect for Disney films and pressure through the hashtag #Disney_must_return_Egyptian, which for a long time has been the most popular in the world and in several Gulf and Arab countries and was supported by many Arab artists, led by the Egyptian star Mohamed Henedy.

Egyptian dubbing returns to Disney

It is noteworthy that millions were waiting for this step, not only from Egypt, but from various Arab countries. There are generations that grew up on animation dubbed in the vernacular and loved it. It was shocking when Disney stopped dubbing its films in the Egyptian dialect and replaced it with Standard since 2012.

With the announcement of the news on the official Facebook page of "Disney in Arabic", it was soon followed by the disclosure of the names of the artists to whom the vocal performance was assigned.

Among them are Jihan Al-Nasser as "Grandmother", Shorouk Al Sharif as "Mirabel", Ziad Al Sharif as "Bruno", Natalie Alan as "Luissa", Noha Fikri as "Peppa", and among the children is Isl Rami as "Mirabel" The Little One", and Abdullah Hazem as "Antonio".

These nominations were well received by the audience, especially assigning the championship to lyrical director Jihan Al-Nasser, who has a long history in dubbing dozens of Disney films, whether performing or singing.

Among the most important works in which she participated are: "Pocahontas", "The Lion King 2", "Rapunzel", "Mulan", "Tarzan" and "Aladdin".

“Inkanto” and a track record of success

Since the beginning of the release of the movie "Incanto" last November, and despite all the fears of producers and distributors due to the coincidence of its presentation with the appearance of the Omicron mutant, it has deviated from all expectations and achieved a remarkable artistic and public success.

On the one hand, the revenue of the business exceeded 246 million dollars, and on the other hand, it received an audience rating of 7.3 points, according to IMDb.

At the level of important artistic awards, the work won the Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Film for 2022, while the National Board of Review awarded it the Best Animated Film Award for 2021.

At the level of nominations that have not yet been decided, the film was nominated for the Best Animated Film Award in the British BAFTA for 2022, and the most important for 3 Oscars: "Best Animated Film", "Best Song" and "Best Soundtrack".

Critics also expect the work to win the Oscar for the best “animated” movie, at least, which we will be sure of on March 27 at the 94th Academy Awards.

#Encanto has won the Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature.

song of the year

Not only that, but the track record of "Incanto" extended to the singing world, with one of his songs called "We Don't Talk About Bruno" topping the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Which Disney hasn't achieved since 1993.

While the film's soundtrack has been at the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart for weeks on end, this has fueled the enthusiasm of the Arab audience, who are waiting to see how these cheerful and charming songs will come out in the Egyptian dialect.

In love with latin culture

If you loved Coco or are a fan of family dramas and even music, you will surely enjoy Incanto.

The story of the work revolves around a Colombian family who is forced to leave their land for fear of the tyranny of some evil cruelty, and there during the move they lose their only breadwinner, and at the same time, fate compensates them with a magical candle that allows each member of the family to possess supernatural powers that can make the lives of everyone around him better.

It continues for generations until the family is surprised by "Mirabel", who has no talent at all, which makes her lose her self-confidence and feel frustrated, and makes the rest of the family treat her with some pity or disdain.

The events follow in the same vein until the heroine discovers a threat that may overthrow all magical powers and family cohesion, so she decides to act on her own in secret and search for the reason behind this to find a solution, but things get more complicated and everyone loses their control over everything, so will they be able to survive and recover Their inspiring abilities, or do they have to rebuild their lives from scratch?
