“The UK will allocate an additional $100 million directly to the government budget of Ukraine to alleviate the financial pressure created by Russia's unprovoked and illegal invasion,” RIA Novosti reported.

The allocated funds will be used to pay salaries to employees of the public sector and pensions to residents of Ukraine.

Earlier, the British authorities announced the allocation of more than $53 million in humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

World Bank (WB) President David Malpas, in a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, said the financial institution could provide a $500 million loan soon and another $200 million at the end of March.
