Kilde won for the seventh time this season (4 times in super-G, 3 times in downhill) in a very close race, with a 7/100 lead over Canadian James Crawford and 12/100 over Austrian Olympic champion Matthias Mayer.

The day after the last race of his illustrious compatriot Kjetil Jansrud, triple winner of the super-G globe, Kilde paid him a fine tribute by winning the trophy once again after 2016.

A Norwegian specialty, since the "attacking Vikings" (Aksel Lund Svindal, Jansrud and Kilde) have won eight of the last eleven trophies in the specialty.

"It's my first victory at home, under this beautiful sun, with perfect conditions, I couldn't have dreamed of better. I was happy but also very nervous at the start, there were a lot of emotions, I skied with my heart," he said.

The Olympic bronze medalist is now 130 points clear of Mayer in the super-G standings (victory is worth 100 points) heading into the final race on March 17 at the Courchevel finals.

Kilde (29) has had a string of successes since his big surprise crystal globe in 2020. With this 7th World Cup super-G victory (the 13th in total, counting downhills), he becomes the 6th most successful skier history in the discipline.

His success under the sun also allows the Norwegian to get closer to Marco Odermatt in the general classification.

Very disappointing in Norway (28th Sunday), the Swiss only has a 189-point lead, seven races from the end of the season.

However, he keeps his hand with two giants to come next weekend in Kranjska Gora (Slovenia), a discipline in which he is sovereign this winter.

In second place, the young Canadian James Crawford (24) confirmed his talent by mounting his first World Cup podium, after the impressive Olympic Games in China last month (combined bronze medalist, 4th in the downhill , 6th in the super-G).

Not very successful at Kvitfjell since Friday, the French have remained behind: Matthieu Bailet is 17th, Nils Allègre 19th and Blaise Giezendanner 20th.

Only Bailet, Giezendanner and Alexis Pinturault, among the world Top-25, are qualified for the last super-G in Courchevel.

The slalom specialists now meet on Wednesday in Flachau (Austria).
