- The idea came up when we were to start planning for the Spring Cup, which kicks off in August.

We wanted to do something for the children in Ukraine, and decided that we wanted to contribute SEK 100 per team that signs up for Save the Children.

- That's how we got in touch with Save the Children's local department.

It feels good, so we know that the money arrives correctly and quickly, says Fredrik Hammarström who is chairman of Selånger SK.

Challenges other associations

The Spring Cup is a football cup for 8-14 year old boys and girls but which has been canceled due to the pandemic for two years.

When the latest edition of the Spring Cup was played, 170 teams participated.

The organizers also challenge other actors in Sundsvall's association life to match Selångers SK's collection.

- When Selånger SK connected with us, it was good, we can together help to collect these funds that are needed, says Ingeborg Wiksten who is chairman of Save the Children in Sundsvall and regional council for the Liberals.
