Syrian MP: Putin asked Assad's permission before invading Ukraine, and the president told him: Trust in God!

Syrian parliament member Khaled Al-Aboud, who represents the "National Front" coalition led by the "Baath" party that has been ruling in Syria for more than half a century, sparked ridicule among social media pioneers because of his statements in a television interview.

Al-Aboud said in an interview on state television that the Russian Defense Minister came to Damascus and sat with President Bashar al-Assad and told him that they would invade Ukraine. Bashar al-Assad replied, “Rely on God.”

The statements of the Syrian representative aroused widespread ridicule on social media, considering that the representative was “delusional.” They also brought back pictures of Bashar al-Assad when Russian President Vladimir Putin was in Syria while he was taking steps behind him.
