A 17-year-old young man was stabbed to death on Friday evening in Marseille, a priori in "a gang attack", the public prosecutor of Marseille told AFP on Saturday.
The minor was "completely unknown" to the justice and police services, added prosecutor Dominique Laurens, confirming information from Provence.
According to a police source, the victim was with two other men near a petanque court in the 15th arrondissement, north of the city, around midnight, when a group of around twenty people, armed with truncheons, tasers and weapons white, attacked them.
The two men who accompanied the victim were able to flee but not the 17-year-old, according to the same source.
A man in his thirties died Thursday in a knife fight also in Marseille, according to the police.
He had been seriously injured in the head at a subway exit.
