Both in Sweden and in Finland, public support for NATO membership is increasing.

What is your opinion on that and has it been discussed?

- Yes, we have discussed that and I think it is completely understandable that the attitude of our citizens changes due to Russia's attack on Ukraine, says Sanna Marin.

- It is understandable in the current situation, there are more people who think about security issues.

In the last week, the security situation has changed dramatically, says Magdalena Andersson and adds that it is obvious that this will be discussed both in Finland and in Sweden.

Talked to Biden

Hultqvist (S) and the Finnish Minister of Defense Kaikkonen will also hold individual talks.

The agenda includes Russia's attacks on Ukraine, security policy developments and co-operation between Sweden and Finland.

Magdalena Andersson was called during the meeting between Niinistö and Biden.

Today, Magdalena Andersson tweeted about the conversation:

"Talked on the phone with President Biden and President Niinistö about Russia's aggression against Ukraine and Europe's security.

We agree to strengthen cooperation between Sweden, Finland and the United States ", she writes.
