Demonstrations against the war in Ukraine are taking place in most cities around Sweden.

On Saturday afternoon, the people of Norrköping also wanted to show their support.

Up to 500 people gathered on the German square in Norrköping with powerful posters and the blue-yellow flag in full swing.

Natalia Bevshko from Ukraine was one of those who came to the demonstration to show her support.

Her poster reads "Russian ships go to hell".

- We stand by it, Russia will pull the hell out of Ukraine, she says.

The governor, Carl-Fredrik Graaf, was also present, giving a speech to the participants.

- I want to take the opportunity to thank all the good forces, both in Sweden and around Europe, who now agree.

Agreed against the Russian war machine and for the people of Ukraine, were words that he expressed in his speech.

The event is a citizens' initiative arranged by Norrköping's theater company.

Olov Rasch is one of the initiators, he says that they plan to arrange demonstrations in the German square every Saturday as long as the war in Ukraine continues.

- It is important to do something.

It gives hope, it strengthens courage, he says.
