Marghy Mahmoud, Syria, died on the Polish border from the cold

3 Syrians died in Ukraine due to the bloody conflict.

A Syrian-Kurdish woman died on the Ukrainian-Polish border, on Wednesday, after escaping with her family in the wake of the intensification of battles, Russian bombing and the deterioration of the security situation in the country.

Mergi Mahmoud, who comes from the city of Kobani, suffered a heart attack due to the cold, after fleeing with thousands of others towards the neighboring countries of Ukraine.

In an interview with "Sky News Arabia", the grieving husband, Muhammad Hajem, who was displaced in his car towards the Polish border, said that "as is the case in most of the wars in the world, thousands of Ukrainians left their homes in search of a safe haven, after the bombing of the Russian forces, including the Syrians, began Those in Ukraine.

Hajim says that the distance that separates his home from the Polish border does not exceed 273 kilometers, but the massive wave of immigration on the borders with Hungary and Poland formed long queues of cars at the border crossings, which hindered their progress and caused them to wait for 4 days and nights, during which they suffered from hunger, cold and physical and psychological stress.

After 4 days of waiting, Hajim was saddened by the death of his wife, who could not stand the cold weather and snowfall during their stay in the car, waiting for an opportunity to cross.

According to Hajim's account, the Ukrainian authorities were giving priority to crossing their citizens, which delayed their arrival to the border and caused him to lose his wife.

The husband said that he contacted an organization concerned with humanitarian affairs, and received promises from them to transfer his wife's body from Poland to Germany, and from there to Turkey and then Syria to be buried in her hometown of Kobani.

For his part, Doctor Mustafa Abu Alan, one of the relatives of the deceased, who is still in Ukraine, said: "I was in contact with Muhammad and his wife until they reached the border, but the communication was cut off after they entered Poland, and I was then surprised by the news of the death of my relative and my neighbor."

Abu Alan confirmed that many civilians were killed in separate areas of Ukraine, including Syrians, but he lacks accurate information about their numbers and names.

On the other hand, Syrian media sources reported the killing of a Syrian gynecologist from Deir ez-Zor, Laila Ahmed, in a bombing by Russian forces on the hospital where she works in the city of Kharkiv, eastern Ukraine.

The sources said that the doctor's husband, who is also a doctor named Omar, survived after being seriously injured.

Shamil al-Khatib, a displaced Syrian from the city of Aleppo, was also killed in Kyiv, on Tuesday.

"Gharib," a pseudonym for a Syrian from Damascus and the son of Khatib's cousin who shared housing with him in the Ukrainian capital, said, "The situation is catastrophic, especially for Syrians, who are afraid to return to their war-weary country, while many of them do not have enough money to flee to Europe."
