Three years and nine months after the Provincial Court of Seville condemned the former presidents of the Junta de Andalucía Manuel Chaves and José Antonio Griñán, among others, for the fraud of the ERE, the Supreme Court will review the sentence of the so-called political piece of the macrocausa, the first that was held and in which the legality of the procedure by which the irregular aid was granted was prosecuted.
The High Court has summoned all the parties to a hearing for the next May 4 and 5 in which each of the lawyers will be able to present, in a summarized way, the arguments that they have already outlined in the corresponding appeals against the ruling before the magistrates decide whether to admit them or not and whether to correct (or not) the sentence issued by the court presided over by Juan Antonio Calle and which sentenced Griñán to six years in prison and Chaves to nine years of disqualification.
The room -which will be chaired by Juan Ramón Berdugo and will also be made up of Ana María Ferrer, Susana Polo, Carmen Lamela and Eduardo de Porres (who will be the speaker)- justifies holding the hearing given the "complexity" of the resources presented and foresees that the sessions may even last during the afternoon of the two days.
