The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is following up on the detention of 3 Emiratis in Tanzania

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a "tweet" on its Twitter page that it "is following with interest the issue of the three citizens of the country who are detained in Tanzania, with the country's embassy in Dar es Salaam, within the available diplomatic and legal channels."

Unconfirmed information circulated by news agencies indicated that four people (a Saudi and three Emiratis) were arrested in connection with the bombing of a church in which a mass is being held in the city of Arusha (in the north of the country), which resulted in the killing of two people and the injury of about 60 people, while Al-Hayat newspaper reported. The Londoner quoted the Saudi ambassador to Tanzania, Hani Mumina, as saying: "The Tanzanian authorities arrested a Saudi citizen two days ago, along with three of his colleagues, who are of Emirati nationality, who were wandering in the northern city of Arusha."

He pointed out that "the Saudi consul in Dar es Salaam, and the lawyer for the Saudi embassy, immediately went to the place of arrest of the Saudi citizen," noting that a number of Arabs and foreigners were arrested.

He added: "Initial information indicates that the Saudi citizen and his Emirati colleagues are not accused of the accident, but rather a mere suspicion, neither less nor more, and what was rumored besides that is incorrect."

Moumina pointed out that the Saudi citizen arrived in Tanzania with his Emirati colleagues for the purpose of tourism, and to visit the nature reserves there.
