His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, received yesterday Mario Abdo Benitez, President of the friendly Republic of Paraguay, who is on a working visit to the country, during which he will attend his country's celebrations of its National Day at Expo 2020 Dubai.

During the meeting, which took place at the Beach Palace in Abu Dhabi, the two sides discussed various aspects of relations between the two countries and ways to develop cooperation and push it forward, especially in the economic, investment, trade, development and renewable energy fields.

His Highness and the President of Paraguay exchanged views on the latest developments in the region and the world, as well as regional and international issues of common concern.

The meeting dealt with "Expo 2020 Dubai" and the success achieved by the UAE by hosting this exceptional session of the exhibition, as well as the participation of Paraguay, which embodies the country's cultural and geographical diversity, and calls for the discovery of diverse investment opportunities and capabilities.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed that the UAE is keen to expand the base of cooperation and partnership relations and build bridges of communication with various friendly countries of the world, based on its principles that are based on cooperation, mutual respect and common interests for the good and development of all.

For his part, President Mario Abdo Benítez expressed his happiness at visiting the UAE, and valued the support provided by the state to the medical sector in Paraguay to confront the "Covid-19" pandemic.
