On March 2, the government called on Sweden to cease all contacts and collaborations with government institutions in the two countries.

So now MDU chooses to follow that call.

The decision means that MDU will also not initiate new contacts and collaborations with government institutions in Russia and Belarus.

The academies will now review which collaborations they have that may be affected by this.

- It is not people from Russia and Belarus we refrain from having contact with.

We are and will continue to be an inclusive and welcoming university for everyone, regardless of nationality.

In many collaborations, there are individual contacts, for example between researchers.

We should not automatically equate such contacts between research colleagues with collaborations with state institutions.

To decide whether we should refrain from cooperation, it is therefore required that the academy makes an assessment of each individual case, says Rector Paul Pettersson in a statement.
