The trial, which is the first of its kind in Sweden, began at Stockholm District Court in February.

This is the first time that the crime of serious war crime through the use of a child soldier has been tried in court.

The woman, who is from Halland, has always denied the accusations.

Among other things, she has claimed that she was tricked into Syria by her now deceased husband - a notorious jihadist - and that it was her eldest son (who is also dead) who decided that the family would remain in war-torn Syria.

According to the prosecutors, the boy has been educated and trained to participate in the "hostilities" and equipped with, for example, uniforms and weapons.

He has also been used in combat and other missions that formed part of the warfare, as well as for propaganda purposes.

The woman is sentenced to six years in prison.
