A rather exceptional quantity.

No less than 14 kg of cannabis resin were discovered Thursday in an apartment in Nantes, the Loire-Atlantique national police announced on Friday.

The drug, which was prepared in "loaves" of resin, was found at the home of a suspect arrested in the Dervallières district.

The police sent their canine squad to search the premises.

The flair of the specialized dog did the rest.

Cash and several cell phones were also seized at the scene.

Two individuals were taken into custody after this discovery.

The investigation is continuing.

Since last summer, the national police have intensified their harassment of intermediate deal points.

A strategy which, for the moment, seems to be bearing fruit.

Several of these deal points are in the Dervallières district, west of Nantes.
