The National Election Commission announced that the turnout was 2.14% as of 9 a.m. today (4th), the first day of early voting for the 20th presidential election.



This is 0.75 percentage points higher than 1.39% in the 19th presidential election in 2017 and 0.63 percentage points higher than the 1.51% turnout in the most recent national election in the 2020 21st National Assembly election.



As of 9 am, Jeollanam-do had the highest early voter turnout by province and province, with 3.61%.



The lowest place was Daegu with 1.71%.



In Daegu, re-elections for the Central and Nam-gu members of the National Assembly are held along with the presidential election.



Seoul, where re-elections and by-elections for the National Assembly members are held in Jongno and Seochogap, recorded 2.25% of the early voter turnout as of 9 am.



Among the re-election regions for the National Assembly, the early voting turnout was 2% in Anseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, and 1.91% in Sangsang-gu, Cheongju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do.



Advance voting can be done at 3,552 advanced polling stations nationwide without a separate report, as long as you have your ID card for two days up to the 5th.



Advance voting booths have also been set up at Seoul Station, Yongsan Station, and Incheon International Airport.




Voting hours are 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.



On the 5th, the second day of early voting, those infected with COVID-19 and quarantined can vote at a temporary voting booth separated from general electors.



The National Election Commission urged the National Election Commission to arrive at the advance polling place before 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., the time when quarantine authorities are allowed to go out.



As presidential candidate Ahn Cheol-soo of the People's Party resigned yesterday, 'Resignation' is marked in black on the early voting ballots printed at the site.
