There has been great turbulence among Social Democrats for many years, something that led to politicians from central Pajala forming the party Future S before the last election.
That party has been in opposition for the past term.
During the winter, mediation attempts have been made between the two parties and for a long time it looked as if a merger would take place.
But the nominations for the council list were a disappointment for the S politicians from the central town.
- We were promised that the S-association in Pajala would get every third place.
But our first name came in 17th place, says Bengt Niska.
He himself came in 26th place.
- If S gets all the seats in kf, five people still have to drop out for me to get in, he says.
Leaving the party
Now he has left S. Ann-Marie Mäki Larsson has done the same.
- I'm so incredibly disappointed.
I thought we could get along, she says.
Owe Pekkari will be the first name on the Future S-list.
- We are resurrecting the party.
It is the only opportunity to influence in Pajala municipality.
Municipal councilor Ulrica Hammarström (S) says that the break is sad but that it does not affect her commitment.
