A fire broke out and was quickly extinguished, said the firefighters who evacuated several dozen people housed in the twelve apartments of the building, as well as in adjacent buildings.

Already 22 wounded, research continues

The inhabitants, mostly of Pakistani origin, were all evacuated, said the prefecture.

According to this same source, the provisional balance sheet amounts to three people in absolute emergency and 19 people in relative emergency, whose days are not in danger.

The operations continued in the morning to search for possible victims in the rubble, with the help of a canine team, and to secure the building, according to the firefighters.

A perimeter was set up to secure the surroundings of the weakened building, and an architect went on site to determine the damage and the possible risk of collapse.

"A danger order will be taken so that the building is no longer occupied", indicated on Twitter Karine Franclet, the mayor of Aubervilliers, adding that a dojo has been opened to welcome the victims.
