Since Friday, a seal calf, or common, has been regularly observed on the beaches of Plouha (Côtes-d'Armor).
The animal was spotted by a walker who, believing it to be in danger, alerted the emergency services, reports
Le Télégramme
On the spot, Nicolas Caous, municipal policeman and firefighter, quickly found that the young mammal was in good health.
“He moves well and is plump,” he said.
He would come to the beaches of the town to rest and digest.
What arouse the curiosity of many passers-by.
“A wild animal that can bite”
However, walkers are asked to keep their distance.
"He is friendly in the photos, we want to hug him, but we must not forget that he is a wild animal that can bite", explains the head of the Plouha communication department.
The animal being ringed, its number and photo were sent to Océanopolis.
The National Center for Scientific Culture dedicated to the ocean then specified that it was a sea calf seal which had been treated and then “rehabilitated” by a British center.
