The UAE National Olympic Committee announced that 2,204 people, of various nationalities and social groups, participated in the seventh edition of the National Sports Day, whose main event was held at “Expo 2020 Dubai”, yesterday, and included walking for a distance of three kilometers, toured most of the pavilions of the participating countries in the event International, under the slogan “The UAE brings us together”.

The National Sports Day witnessed the participation of the various emirates of the country, organizing multiple activities, amounting to 33 various events, “in celebration of the occasion that everyone from institutions, bodies, bodies and individuals is waiting for, to express the extent of the love of the Emirates, through a sports event that has successfully booked its place in the agenda of major national events.” .

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Commissioner-General of Expo 2020 Dubai, witnessed some of the sporting events at the Sports, Fitness and Wellness Center, in the presence of the Vice President of the National Olympic Committee and Head of the Executive Office, Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, and Sheikh Engineer Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Executive Team of the National Sports Day Initiative, Sheikh Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Mualla, President of the Arab Chess Federation, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, President of the Emirates Federation for Bodybuilding and Fitness, in addition to the Assistant Secretary-General for Administrative and Financial Affairs of the National Olympic Committee, Engineer Azza bint Suleiman, and a number of public and sports figures, representatives of bodies and authorities at the state level, sports councils and federations, and representatives of the media.

The main event started from the celebrations park of “Expo 2020 Dubai”, as the Dubai Police band marched, in an atmosphere that mixed with happiness, joy and positivity for all participants of different nationalities and age groups, which reflected the goals of the National Sports Day, and the slogan “Emirates unites us”, before To end at the Sports, Fitness and Wellness Center, which hosted all the sporting events accompanying the event.

Artistic performances were held for the athletes in karate, taekwondo, fencing, jiu-jitsu and bodybuilding, where the participants interacted with the presented performances, and followed up on all the sporting exhibition movements, which added unique aesthetic touches that attracted the attention of the audience.

The Emirates Congenital Heart Disease Association, the Emirates Association for the Deaf, and many institutions and bodies that confirmed that sport is an integral part of the daily plans and programs for all segments of society.

At the end of the activities, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan honored the participants, and medals and shields were handed over, and a group of memorial photographs were taken.
