The arrest of the "crystal fish" gang in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi Police arrested 3 Asians in possession of approximately 38 kilos of crystal drug, which were hidden inside the guts of fish, through a tight plan of field follow-up and after coordination with the Federal Drug Prosecution to set the legal framework for the arrest process.

The Director of the Directorate of Narcotics Control in the Criminal Security Sector, Brigadier Taher Gharib Al Dhaheri, explained that the Abu Dhabi Police managed to uncover the method of concealing the drugs that the gang followed, thinking that it would make them safe from the eyes of the security men, but the efficiency and competence of the combatants prevented the success of their plan to deal them another painful blow. It proves to them that the security men are always on the lookout and always ready to confront them.

He stated that the moment of the arrest of that gang formed an unexpected surprise for them, and the effects of shock were visible on their faces, so they did not expect that this new method they followed would be easy to discover.

He pointed out that this operation is an extension of a major operation aimed at arresting the largest possible number of drug trafficking gangs that rely on random promotional messages through the WhatsApp program.

The Director of the Anti-Narcotics Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police stressed that the development of the methods followed by the Directorate and the support it receives from the Abu Dhabi Police General Command has played a major role in facilitating and developing highly efficient methods of work in the face of crime, regardless of its forms.

He pointed out that the new anti-drug law, which was actually implemented at the beginning of this year, will contribute to creating the required deterrent for anyone who tries to promote these toxins inside the country.

He appealed to the public not to respond to text messages that may come to them from unknown numbers to promote drugs, noting that most of them are monitored by drug control agencies at the state level.
