At present, the cause of the accident has gradually become clear. The director of Taiwan Xingda Power Plant confirmed that the accident was indeed caused by the equipment failure of Xingda Power Plant, but the cause of the failure must be investigated in detail.

  Due to the suddenness of the incident, disasters in various counties and cities have been reported frequently, including traffic chaos caused by the lack of traffic lights, people trapped in elevators, and even the suspension of the entire Taiwan Railway. 1.34 million households in Taiwan were once without water.

  Wang Meihua, the head of the economic affairs department of the Taiwan authorities, said that the accident at the switchyard of the Xingda Power Plant resulted in an instant loss of 10.5 million watts of power in Taiwan, accounting for about 1/3 of the power in Taiwan, affecting 5 million households.
