Mohamed bin Zayed receives President of Paraguay
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, today received Mario Abdo Benítez, President of the friendly Republic of Paraguay, who is on a working visit to the country, during which he will attend his country's celebrations of its National Day at Expo 2020 Dubai.
During the meeting, which took place at Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi, the two sides discussed various aspects of relations between the two countries and ways of developing cooperation and pushing it forward, especially in the economic, investment, commercial, developmental and renewable energy fields.
His Highness and the President of Paraguay exchanged views on the latest developments in the region and the world, as well as regional and international issues of common concern.
The meeting dealt with "Expo 2020 Dubai" and the success achieved by the UAE by hosting this exceptional session of the exhibition, along with the participation of Paraguay, which embodies the country's cultural and geographical diversity and calls for the discovery of diverse investment opportunities and possibilities.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed that the UAE is keen to expand the base of cooperation and partnership relations and to build bridges of communication with various friendly countries of the world, based on its principles that are based on cooperation, mutual respect and common interests for the good and development of all.
For his part, President Mario Abdo Benítez expressed his happiness at visiting the UAE, and he valued the support provided by the state to the medical sector in Paraguay to confront the "Covid-19" pandemic.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Adviser for Special Affairs at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, Maryam bint Mohammed Saeed Hareb Al Muhairi, UAE Ambassador to the Argentine Republic, and non-resident Ambassador and State Plenipotentiary to Paraguay Saeed Saeed. Abdullah Seif.
It was also attended by the Minister of Industry and Trade of Paraguay Luis Alberto Castiglione, the Minister of Women's Affairs Celina Lescano, the Deputy Minister of Economic Relations and Integration Raul Cano and the Commissioner-General of the Paraguayan Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, Jose Agüero Avila.
