On the 3rd in Taiwan, a power outage occurred in a wide range due to a trouble at a power plant in the south, and people were trapped in elevators in various places, causing confusion for a while.

According to Taiwan Power Company, on the morning of the 3rd, a trouble occurred at the equipment of the power plant in Kaohsiung in the south, and a power outage occurred in 5.49 million households, which is about one-third of the total number of households including the central and northern parts.

According to the fire department, there were more than 200 reports that people were trapped in the elevators of buildings in various places.

Even in some areas of Taipei in the north, the power supply stopped, the traffic lights at the intersections of the roads disappeared, and police officers came out to control traffic.

Taiwan Power is investigating the cause of the trouble.

There were two large-scale power outages in Taiwan last year, and spokesman Luo Qinsei of the Executive Yuan, the Cabinet, apologized, "I express my greatest apologies for the inconvenience caused to everyone's lives."
