The Ukrainian embassy in Korea said that South Koreans have been inquiring about participating in the Ukrainian War as a volunteer.

An official from the Ukrainian embassy in Korea said, "Inquiries to go to Ukraine to participate in the war are pouring in from the embassy."

These hopefuls are known to have contacted the embassy by phone, e-mail, or Facebook to inquire about how to join the war.

An embassy spokesperson said, "When an applicant contacts the embassy, we check whether they are eligible for enlistment, and then guide them through the enlistment-related process if certain qualifications are met."

The embassy explained that adults 18 years of age or older with military experience are eligible for enlistment.

An embassy official said, "Some volunteers have requested that they be sent to Ukraine as soon as possible." "No Koreans have actually gone to Ukraine yet."

In the future, the embassy plans to systematize the support system by designating a dedicated person and unifying the contact network.

After Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appealed for the participation of volunteers abroad on the 26th of last month, people from all over the world, including Korea, wish to volunteer for this 'foreign unit'.

At the time, President Zelensky appealed, "Those who want to participate in the protection of Ukraine, please come to Ukraine. Everyone who protects Ukraine is a hero."

The embassy said, "Because it is a voluntary visit as an individual, the individual takes full responsibility."

In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the entire Ukraine has been designated as a travel ban, saying, "The government's top priority is the safety of our people along with other factors related to the situation in Ukraine."

He added that entering Ukraine without permission could result in penalties under the passport law.

Sponsorships are pouring in.

After the Ukrainian embassy in Korea opened its official donation account yesterday (2nd), approximately 1 billion won was raised for two days until 7 pm today.
