Demand for the MSB's brochure has risen sharply since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine.
Last week, 1,800 orders were placed in just one day.
But for the Sami-speaking part of the population, the brochure risks giving the wrong message.
The North Sami text contains several errors where the text even has the opposite meaning.
"Serious error"
In the text about outdoor alarms, so-called Hesa Fredrik, it says in the Swedish text that the public is urged to go indoors if the alarm sounds.
But in the North Sami translation it says "go out" instead.
- It is a serious mistake, it will be just the opposite, says Ulla-Karin Sarri, chair of the Sami Parliament's Language Committee.
Acts of war became a national document
But that is not the only mistake.
Under the heading "If Sweden is attacked, counter-force is required", it says in the Swedish version that "All information that the resistance will cease is false".
But in the North Sami translation it says that the information "is true".
And in the same paragraph, the Swedish word "acts of war" has been translated into a Sami word meaning "national document".
- This shows how important it is that we have more translators and interpreters so that you can proofread, says Ulla-Karin Sarri.
SVT Sápmi has been in contact with MSB who does not want to answer questions about the brochure.
They point out that they do not have time for an interview as many people contact them with questions right now.
