America and Russia establish a "hot line" between their armies to avoid "miscalculation"

Reuters reported, quoting a US official, on Thursday, that the US Department of Defense "The Pentagon" has established a direct line of communication with its Russian counterpart to prevent "miscalculation, military accidents and escalation" in the region as the Russian invasion of Ukraine progresses.

"The Department of Defense recently established a dispute resolution line with the Russian Defense Ministry on March 1 in order to prevent miscalculations, military accidents and escalation," a senior US defense official said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

The network "NBC" was the first to talk about this step, which came amid unprecedented tension between Russia and the West, amid fears of a slipping situation.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told state television that he believed some foreign leaders were preparing for war against Russia.

Lavrov stressed that NATO's unwillingness to guarantee the security of one country at the expense of another exacerbates the deterioration of the situation, and asked: "How can the West determine what threatens our security and what does not threaten it?"

Lavrov stressed that his country is open to dialogue with NATO, but he asked: "When will this dialogue begin?"

Lavrov said: "We do not hear an initiative from the West and NATO stating that they are ready for dialogue on the basis of mutual respect."

He added, "NATO always works to show that it is the privileged one."
