Chen Aidong, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and director of the Institute of Agricultural Environmental Resources of the Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, said in an interview with a reporter from China News Agency that he will continue to pay attention to how to build a good ecological security in Southwest China barrier.

Yunnan is an important area of the ecological security barrier in the southwest and an important area in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River.
In the previous investigation, I also paid attention to how we can give full play to some of our ecological security and ecological environmental protection work in the Yunnan section of the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, especially to make up for some shortcomings, so as to increase the continuous improvement.
I would like to make some proposals and suggestions.
[Explanation] As an agricultural expert, Chen Aidong has been committed to the prevention and control of crop diseases and insect pests in recent years.
Chen Aidong led the team to travel almost all over 16 prefectures (cities) in Yunnan Province, and finally found an important local natural enemy of Spodoptera frugiperda, and successfully achieved artificial breeding and field application demonstration, which has prepared technical reserves for green prevention and control .

Our team has been carrying out such work, and has carried out multilateral international cooperation with more than 10 countries in the Greater Mekong Subregion and South Asian countries, focusing mainly on migratory pests, epidemic diseases and invasive weeds.
Well, in last year's work, we did some work through our research and our preliminary foundation, but Yunnan still has some shortcomings and weaknesses in this regard, because including our platform construction, including our talent in our Technical aspects need some support from the state.
[Explanation] At the National Two Sessions, Chen Aidong's proposals focused on agricultural development and farmers' production and life.
Last year, his proposals on building Yunnan into a demonstration zone for China's agricultural biosecurity risk prevention and control and on strengthening characteristic agricultural products to boost the revitalization of rural industries have all been answered and handled by relevant ministries and commissions.
