The wax figure of Russian President Vladimir Putin

A famous wax museum in Paris, France has removed Russian President Putin's dolls.

According to a Euronews report on the 1st of local time, the Grevin Museum, the wax figure museum in Paris, removed the Putin wax figure from the exhibition room and moved it to the warehouse.

The museum said it would not remove Putin's dolls from storage until further notice.

The Putin doll, created in 2000, was previously located between the wax figures of US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping, but it can no longer hold its place.

Yves del Ommo, director of the museum, said in an interview with local radio France Bleu, "It is impossible to display a doll of a person like President Putin under the current circumstances (Russia invaded Ukraine). It's the first time I've taken it down," he added.

"Over the weekend (after the invasion of Ukraine), visitors attacked Putin's wax figure and damaged his hair," he said. He said it's not clear when this will come out of the warehouse again.

The museum also said that it is considering replacing Putin's wax figure with a doll of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

"Perhaps it will take the place of Ukrainian President Zelensky Putin's place," the museum director said. "He resisted the invasion and did not leave his country, making him a hero. He could perfectly take the place (of the wax figure) as one of the greatest figures in history." There will be,” he said.
