"When I talk to my family, I do not know if this is the last time"

For Veronika from Ukraine, who lives and works on Gotland, it is extremely frightening to have her family left in Ukraine.

- I just want to cry.

Every time I talk to my family, I do not know if it is the last time, she says.

Lars Thomsson (C), Member of Parliament from Gotland, has descendants in Ukraine.

His grandmother and grandfather came to Sweden and Gotland from Gammalsvenskby in 1929.

- You see war scenes all the time.

We have some friends' relatives who are already dead.

You are completely desperate, he says.
