On the seventh day of the Russian invasion, Moscow advanced mainly in southern Ukraine, taking control of the central square of Kherson, on the border with Crimea, and encircling Mariupol.

If the situation remains stable in Kiev, Russian airborne forces landed in the middle of the night in Kharkiv, in the north, and fighting is taking place in the second Ukrainian city.

In his State of the Union address, Joe Biden praised "the courage of the Ukrainian people" and President Zelensky, and called Putin a "dictator".
