The Russian army continues its military actions throughout the Ukrainian territory.

Faced with the war, more and more French people are choosing to leave everything to join the Ukrainian army.

On social networks, groups, sometimes made up of several thousand subscribers, organize themselves into a convoy to reach the border.

At 25, Djo is adamant.

He is neither a soldier nor a policeman, but determined to push back Vladimir Putin.

For four days, he has been informing 2,500 French people via a Facebook group on the steps to follow to join the Ukrainian army to face the Russian army.

This young man from Nice, a construction graduate, applied by email to the embassy in Paris.

"If we don't react firmly, who tells us that it will stop in Ukraine?", He confides at the microphone of Europe 1.

He details his approach to going to Ukraine: "First, what you will have to do is send certain documents to a specific email address (passport, criminal record). They will ask you if you have any diplomas, skills, professional experience, very important military experience... It is from this stage that it becomes decisive, that they sort it out and whether they give you their approval or not."

Djo will travel to Ukraine on his own

Joe's application has been accepted.

He says he received a sworn statement which serves as a contract with the Ukrainian army and that a secret meeting point at the border of the country was given to him.

He has to get there now on his own.

“You have to be transported,” he continues.

"There is still a fuel or food budget, to also know if everyone has their up-to-date vaccination pass. Now, it's a whole organization to put in place."
