Three men, aged 19 to 22, appeared Monday before the criminal court of Meaux (Seine-et-Marne) for recurrence of theft with violence in a meeting.
They were on trial for the assault on a 77-year-old pensioner at his home in Othis on June 26, 2021, reports

That day, the defendants rang at the door of the septuagenarian dressed in Red Cross vests.
They then pushed the pensioner inside his house, slapping him.
Threatened with a cutter
The victim recounted his ordeal during the hearing.
His attackers taped his face and threatened to cut off his finger with a cutter.
He was locked in the toilet while the defendants searched his house.
The trio denied the abuse, but did not convince the court.
One of the defendants was sentenced to five years in prison, his two accomplices to four years.
Suspended sentences were also revoked.
